Cat's Meow Village™ Custom - "Lancaster New Era" - Lancaster, PA
Historical fact on the reverse side of this Cat's Meow Village™ Custom:
In 1906, Andrew Jackson Steinman and Charles Steinman Foltz purchased the original home which was modified into a store. The Lancaster Intelligencer moved into the residence in 1907. The new Art Deco or Modern style building, designed by Lancaster architect Melvern R. Evans, was completed and dedicated by 1927. The building was the first of this style to be constructed in Lancaster. In 1928, the Steinman Family consolidated the newspapers and made this location their center for publication. Lancaster Newspaper, Inc. is one of the largest privately owned newspapers in Pennsylvania between Philadelphia and Pittsburg.
